    Jason Thomas

    Executive Director
    Jason Thomas, LCSW, CADC, has been the Executive Director of the Shepherd’s House since March, 2007. Jason has a long history of working with adolescents and adults with mental health and substance abuse issues. As Executive Director, Jason manages the administrative functions of the program including marketing, budgeting, fundraising, supervision of staff and policy management. Jason values the ability to manage the administrative functions of his position while forming supportive relationships with both staff and clients.

    Apryl Tandy

    Clinician
    Apryl Tandy, LCSW, has been working at the Shepherd’s House since June, 2007. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Louisville and her graduate degree at the U of L Kent School of Social work. Her previous clinical experience includes working at the Ridge Hospital, Samaritan Hospital and Bluegrass Comprehensive Care Center. She continues to be a community liaison for the Kent School of Social Work, is a member of the Clinical Society of Social Work and has maintained a small private practice for the past 10 years.

    Gloria Dawson

    Administrative Assistant
    Gloria J. Swope Dawson, Administrative Assistant, has been at Shepherd's House since December, 2006. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky in 1990, after raising her family and traveling throughout the US in the military. In addition to her many administrative duties, Gloria is often the first staff in contact with our clients and is instrumental in teaching life skills and developing an empathetic relationship with each client that is admitted.

    James Hunter

    Resident House Manager
    James Hunter graduated the Shepherd’s House program in 1999 and began employment in his current position in 2000. James is instrumental in the management of all the house managers and implementing the all-important structure within the program. Using his own experiences, James consistently demonstrates the ability to develop a safe and supportive environment for all clients while being able to help them remain responsible and accountable as they develop in their recovery.

    Carrie Brown

    Clinician/Community Development Specialist
    Carrie Brown, M.S. Eds, has served as part-time clinician for the Shepherd's House for three years. Carrie provides counseling services to individual clients, family members, and leads group therapy. Carrie was recently given the additional position of Community Development Specialist at Shepherd's House. In this position she works to gain additional revenue in order to improve and expand the program's services, and works on fundraising and promotional efforts. Carrie is currently finishing her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Kentucky.
